Rink Hockey

In the 3rd day of the 42nd Rink Hockey World Championship in La Roche sur Yon, three teams qualified for the quarter-finals: Portugal in group B (which got the first place of its poule), Italy and Chile in group D.

With Spain, Mozambique and Argentina that qualified yesterday, we already know six of the eight teams that will play for the gold medal starting from thursday june 25. The two still missing will come out from two matches scheduled today, tuesday june 23: France-Angola in group A and Germany-Austria in group C. The last day of the group phase will even decide the first place in the group B with the match between Argentina and Mozambique, and in group D with the match between Chile and Italy.
In the matches played on monday, Italy and Portugal obtained large victories against South Africa (16-1) and Austria (13-0). The south-american derby between Chile and Colombia was more balanced and Chile won only in the 2nd half. Something similar happened in the last game of the day that determined the elimination of Brasil and gave new hope to Germany after the initial defeat against Portugal: 2-2 at half time and x-x for Germany at the end of the game.
