San Juan to Host Women's Rink Hockey Club World Championship 2025

The Women's Rink Hockey Club World Championship, formerly known as the Intercontinental Cup, will take place from May 2 to 4, 2025, at the Aldo Cantoni Stadium in San Juan, Argentina. This prestigious World Skate event continues the tradition of top-level rink hockey competitions in a region known for its passion for the sport.

Participating Teams

The tournament will feature four elite clubs representing the current champions and runners-up from Europe and the Americas:

  • Esneca Fraga (Spain)
  • Vila-Sana (Spain)
  • Deportivo Aberastain (San Juan, Argentina)
  • Concepción Patín Club (San Juan, Argentina)

Competition Schedule

  • Friday, May 2: Semifinals at 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM
  • Sunday, May 4: Finals from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Legacy Program

In addition to the competitive matches, the event will include a special Legacy program on Saturday, May 3 at 10:30 AM. This year's program will focus exclusively on women in rink hockey and will feature a five-time world champion sharing her experiences in an interactive session led by international coach Jorge "Colo" Álvarez.

Historical Significance

The event holds particular significance for the host city, as San Juan has previously organized three world championships in women's rink hockey. This continues World Skate's commitment to providing competitive continuity for European and American clubs in this discipline.

The championship is being organized with the support of World Skate International, under the leadership of President Sabatino Aracu and Sports Director Francesco Zangarini, in collaboration with Carmelo Paniagua, President of the International Rink Hockey Committee.
