This is another fundamental element for the nomination of Roller Speed Skating as Olympic discipline and for its diffusion and media coverage.
“I greet the many athletes from around the world – said the FIRS President Sabatino Aracu during the Opening Ceremony – and that will give life to a competition, that is a real sporting event. I am sure that the World Master will become over the years an increasingly important sport.”
The competitions were held in the magnificent setting of the old town of Pescara, in a city circuit that has seen around 250 athletes from 18 countries in Europe and outside Europe.
In the heart of the city was set a wonderful sport village with live music and a ramp for the evolution of skaters who have held the audience with the turned up nose.
Superb competitions, shooting with live streaming images and giant screens on the arrival line which allowed the public to follow in the best way the competition. From a technical viewpoint the competitions have responded to the expectations, despite the rain that made the asphalt slippery with uncertain competitions, pulled up to the end. Three world titles for Germany, two for Italy, two for Denmark, one for the Netherlands, reflecting the great effervescence of the movement of Master Roller Skating, which has fans all over the world.
