In a thrilling day at the Montecchio Maggiore skating track, the skaters gave us strong emotions and top-notch competitions.

Despite a delayed start, the races eventually kicked off, delivering a day of intense action on the track, which unveiled a mix of surprises and expected outcomes.

Following the qualification heats, and the short brake due to a heavy rain, the event reached its climax with 500mt for the Senior category and 1000mt for the Junior’s. In the end, only the junior’s relay has been raced as the rain came again during the Senior women, forced to postpone the last two finals.

The finals of the 500mt were a true spectacle of power and determination, with athletes pushing the boundaries to secure victory.

At the start line of the Senior Ladies, we find Kollin Castro and Maria Timms from Colombia, Asja Varani from Italy and Erin Jackson from USA. From the beginning the Colombian duo have showed an impressive strength but due to sport fault, they got DQ and RR. Finally, Asja Varani wins gold, Maria Timms silver and Erin Jackson bronze.

Local hero Duccio Marsili could do nothing against the Colombian power of Andres Jimenez who overtook the Italian in the final corner to secure his 13th gold medal of his career.

Duccio is an example of sportsmanship, and the cheers of the crowd were all for him and his bronze medal. In between, Ricardo Verdugo managed to win the silver medal.

The 1000mt for the Junior ladies was unpredictable with overtakes that were always on the edge. In a battled and exciting final, the girls showcased a sensational spectacle of skill and finally Maria Alzate from Colombia, Hsuan-Pei from Chinese Taipei, Aubane Plouhinec from France, won gold, silver and bronze.

In Junior men Metodej Jilek of Czech Republic strongly lead the last laps but then, Colombian Nicolas Barrios and Jeremy Ulcuanco from Ecuador passed him on the finish line to get the gold and silver medal.

It’s time for the relay race!

The relay race is a unique competition which highlight unity, team spirit and mutual support. It’s the celebration of teamwork where the bond between teammates is magnified.

No surprise in Junior categories where Colombia claimed the top spot on the podium in both men's and women's events.

In the junior men's category, the podium was global, with Italy and Chinese Taipei securing their places. Also, in the junior women we saw France and Chinese Taipei claiming spots on the podium.

The rain left room for the last two races and the awaited Senior relays finally took the stage at the end of the “rest” day before the road races.

In the senior women's relay, Colombia showcased their dominance, securing a well-deserved victory. The French and Italian teams took their places on the podium with silver and bronze medals respectively.

In the senior men's relay, the atmosphere was charged with anticipation as a thrilling battle unfolded between Colombia and Italy. The close competition saw both teams pushing their limits, leaving the spectators breathless with excitement. Third place for France.

As the day ended, the relay races were a perfect finish to the event. The Montecchio Maggiore skating track saw a mix of feelings, skills, and sportsmanship throughout the three days, all coming together in these exciting relay contests.
