It’s the last day on the road at the World Championships. On the program: the spectacular 1 LAP race for Senior Men and Women, and the 15000m elimination for both Junior and Senior.

The 1 LAP gave us pure sprinting power, while the 15k elimination confirmed once again how strategy and teamwork can decide everything in the final laps. Today, we close with the races that truly test every skill a skater can bring on the road.

In the Junior Ladies 15k, lap after lap skaters were eliminated, while different athletes took turns at the front. The Colombian train stayed in the leading positions, carefully controlling the race. Holding position was no easy task, with some elbows showing in the pack. The Korean skater pulled much of the race, but in the grand finale Colombia launched a powerful sprint with Sarah Portela Lerma taking the gold. Maiwenn Julou of France secured silver, and Su Jhih-Lin of Chinese Taipei claimed bronze.

In the Junior Men’s 15k, the pace was high right from the start, with teams working together to save their legs. Team tactics played a crucial role, while in the pack some crashes were inevitable. Joaquin Cavalieri was often at the front, and in the final laps the best skaters traded the lead. On the last lap, Giorgio Ghisio Erba tried an incredible move to overtake everyone with a spectacular show of passing, but he was caught just right after. At the finish, it was Gabriel Reyes of Chile who claimed the World Champion title, with Colombia’s Rommel Martin Velasquez Herrera in second, and Italy’s Ghisio Erba securing the bronze.

The race of Senior Women was marked by several crashes the circuit was tricky, and staying in the middle of the pack was never easy. Colombia made sure to stay at the front to avoid the risks of elimination, followed closely by the strong French team.

For the home crowd, Guo Dan of China was just eliminated on the very last lap. In the decisive moments, Luz Karime Garzón led the race like a true expert, crossing the line first with arms raised. Second place went to her Colombian teammate Yisel Giraldo, while the powerful French skater Alison Bernardi secured the bronze.

The Senior Men’s race started at a steady but intense pace, with the Colombian team once again taking charge at the front. In the final laps, the other title contenders also moved up to the head of the pack to avoid any risks.

Julio Mirena of Paraguay led into the last lap, controlling it well, but as Juan Mantilla came from behind with greater speed and tried to pass, Mirena closed his trajectory, and both crashed heavily onto the grass. Taking advantage of the situation, the other Colombian Kevin Lenis seized the victory, followed by Tsu-Cheng Chao, Chinese Taipei, in second and Italy’s Giuseppe Bramante in third. Mirena was later disqualified.

The evening closed with the Senior 1 Lap Final. On such a winding circuit, overtaking is extremely difficult. Starting in front give a big advantage, allowing skaters to control most of the race before launching themselves with full power on the final straight.

In the Senior Women’s One Lap, the line-up featured two Colombians Angely Vanessa and Maria Fernanda Timms alongside Hsuan Liu Yi of Chinese Taipei and Loubna Benkanoun of France. The victory went to Colombia’s new addition Angely Vanessa. Hsuan Liu Yi confirmed once again the incredible length and quality of her career with a strong silver, while Loubna Benkanoun closed with bronze, sealing what has been a great championship for her.

In the Senior Men’s One Lap, the line-up featured Jhon Tascon Holguín ,Colombia, Simon Albrecht, Germany, Jhoan Guzmán, Spain and Yvan Sivilier,France.

The race opened with Guzmán exploding off the line, setting the pace. But on the final straight, Holguín and Albrecht surged forward with incredible speed, reaching the finish almost side by side. The victory went to Jhon Tascon Holguín of Colombia, with Simon Albrecht of Germany just 0.01 behind for silver, and Jhoan Guzmán of Spain securing bronze.
