WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 TAIPEI CITY 4-15 NOVEMBER

Artistic

Just returned from a visit with Norio Iwakata, to Taipei City where we visited, the venue, and the hotels for the World Championships this year.

The Official Hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the Stadium, and is near all the shops, so is very well situated for everyone.   CIPA and the Judges will be booked into this hotel which is :-

Sunworld Dynasty Hotel, 100 Dun Hua North Road, Taipei 10549, and is approximately 1 hour from the International Airport.

More information will be sent about hotel, prices, later.   Please bear in mind however, that  bookings for the hotel can be made only by the Chinese Federation, and not by private individuals.   Anyone not booking through the Federation, will be charged extra for entry, accreditation, closing party etc., and therefore it will not be advisable for anyone to ignore this.

The rink is on the lst floor of the building and will be coated with Roll-on at the end of October to ensure it is absolutely perfect for our Championships.  On the 4th floor will be another rink the same size floor and it will be available from the 9th November onwards for extra private practice, which will be organised by a member of the Organising Committee in Taipei, and everyone will have the opportunity to hire it during the second week. At this moment nothing is organised so there will be no point in Federations trying to book it.

The Precision, Small and Large Show Groups will use this facility for the day of their competitions, for changing, make up, etc., as the access is from 4 lifts specially going from the lst to 4th floor for this purpose.

More details will be given later, but this is just an advance notice to all Federations, and entry forms will be in the FIRS web site, and these should be returned  to CIPA and also to the Chinese Taipei Federation, (photographs should be sent with their entries to the Chinese Federation to ensure quicker registration for skaters and Coaches).

The programme as sent out before has not changed, but as usual, if entries are not as expected, times may change neasrer the Championships, but the days of the events will not change.

The Federation called WSSA (World Slahom Skating Association), will be joining us for our Opening Ceremony on Thursday 7 November, and their own Event will take place from the 4 November until the 8th on the 4th floor.   From the 9 November onwards the floor will be for the use of Artistic Skating, and the lst floor will be for Artistic only from the beginning to the end of our Championships.

More information to follow.
