A never-ending succession of emotions in the third day of Senior competitions in Reus

Artistic
Great skating performances, coreographies, music programs: that was what both the public in the venue and the FIRS streaming audience had the opportunity to see today. The technical level of all the skaters was really very high: All the competitions were fought till the last score and till the last step.

The long day in the Pavilion Olimpic in Reus started with the Senior Couple Original Dances competition that, together with the results of the Compulsory Dances performed yesterday, gave us the provisional ranking for the fight for the World title: it seems to be an "exclusively" Italian fight for the podium. The Italians Melissa Comin De Candido and Daniel Morandin performed a very beautiful music program that put them at the first place, closely followed by Elena Leoni and  Alessandro Spigai and, at the third place, Silvia Stibilj and Andrea Bassi: Everything will be decided with the Free Dance that will be performed tomorrow.

The first World title assigned today was the one of the Pairs Competition: both the Italian Pairs - Elena Lago/Marco Garelli and Federica Vico/Andrea Laurenzi performed great programs at an unbelievable high level, but there were some little imperfections of the performance of Vico and Laurenzi - already at the second place after the Short Program - that confirmed the Gold Medal for Lago/Garelli. Bitter disappointment for the Argentinian Pair Florencia Moyano and Javier Anziel: they were supposed to be ready to fight for the podium but a lot of errors both in the Short and in the Long Program brought them to the fourth place. The French Pair, Marine Portet and Nathanael Fouloy, was able to jump at the opportunity and got the Bronze Medal.

The daily schedule went on with the Solo Free Dance competition both Men and Ladies.

Paola Fraschini (ITA) confirmed her talent and high technical skating level together with a very deep ability to act on the stage and conquered the Gold Medal. Silvia Stibilj (ITA), at her first Senior Championship, got the Silver Medal performing her program with energy and determination. Bronze medal for the Colombian Viviana Osorio and her program on a Tango music.

The last competition saw the juxtaposition between the Italian and Portuguese school: Daniel Morandin (ITA) won the Gold Medal, followed by Alessandro Spigai (ITA), Ricardo Pinto (POR) and, at the fourth place, Paulo Santos (POR). All the four athletes fascinated both the public and the judges with very high performances, getting standing ovations and arousing great cheer by their supporters.

Tomorrow it will be the turn of the Ladies and Men Short Program Competitions and the Free Dance for the Couple. After the Award Ceremonies two demonstrations  will take place: Quartet and Short Dance.
