In Junior competition the Italian pair Federico Calzolari/Sveva Cappone leads performing to “Je Suis Malade”, Federico Rossi/Alice Esposito are sitting in second position with a passionate program on “The Sound of Silence”, third place for Argentina’s Tomas Masia/Florencia Cecconi skating on “Caruso”.
In Senior, all Italians occupy the first three positions: Luca Lucaroni/Rebecca Tarlazzi captured the lead with an exciting long program, thanks to an exccellent side by side triple salchow, throw triple twist, but also a perferct coordinated performance, only a small fall for her; second place for Marco Garelli/Sara Venerucci of Italy with a perfect short program presenting triple twistlutz, high level lifts, strong inverted camel spin and perfect synchronization; third place for Alberto Peruch/Isabella Genchi with a passionate and flawless performance.
Quartets concluded the daily events. It is only since three years that this category entered the Worlds program, and every time the technical performance skills are higher and higher due also to the fact that so many top level athletes who used to skate in the solo dance or the freeskating started to do quartet now.
The 2017 World Champion is Portugal’s Project’s quartet performing to “Are you Mambo?”: a very dynamic and acrobatic program performed by big athletes of Portugal’s team; The Silver medal goes to “Celebrity” from Italy, 2015 and 2016 World Champion, who skated “Dance with me” by La La Land soundtrack, unfortunately they made a major fall after a lift; bronze for Italy’s Neovis with “The other part of me” who developed a very good construction and idea but a mistake during the execution costed them a better evaluation.
Tomorrow will be the last day of competitions with pairs long program and large groups.
