Cali welcomed today the skaters and the delegations, arriving from all over the world, for the LX Artistic World Championships.

More than 1.000 athletes will apreciate, in the next two weeks, the enthusiasm and the warmth of the Colombian people that, for sure, will crowd the Velodrome Alcides Nieto Patiño, already venue for the Artistic Roller Skating competitions during the 2013 World Games.

This year there are 26 attending Countries from 4 Continents: Argentina, Australia, Brasil, Chile, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Paraguay, Portugal, Dominican Republic, Spain, Slovenia, Russia, Uruguay, USA, Venezuela and, of course, the hosting Country, Colombia. The competitions will be live covered on FIRSTv (firs.rollersports.tv) starting on the 19th and highlights will be available to be downloaded.

A new format has been introduced in the championships, allowing Juniors and Seniors to compete in the same days and not in two different weeks as happened till the 2014 edition that took place in Reus.

In the first three days, the venue is reserved to the compulsory and inline competitions that started this morning with the Junior Mens Figures won by American Deven Jacobson followed by the two Germans Jendricke and Maehner: only the sixth and eighth placement for the two Colombians Brayan Carreño and Daniel Hernández.

The stage was then all for the Inline Short Programme: in the Ladies competition Silvia Marangoni (ITA) largely dominated the competition followed by the Argentinians Lucia Kindebaluc and Valentina Escobar; when it came to the Men, Chen Yi-Fan, from Chinese Taipei moved a first step towards the podium close followed by Carlos Urquia (ARG) and Anup Kumar Yama (IND).

The last competitions taking place was the Junior Ladies Figures won by the Argentinian Giselle Soler, followed by the Italian Benedetta Nicolini and the German Camilla Clad.

Tomorrow the Inline Long Programme will decide the World Champion both for the Ladies and the Men and there will be the turn of the Seniors for the Figures.
