Reus 2014: the spectacular conclusion of one of the greatest World Roller Artistic Skating Championships

Artistic
Saturday one of the biggest event that roller artistic skating has ever seen came to the end. The gran final has been an exiting big party of colour and enthusiasm.

In a thrilling afternoon the girls and men of the single competed for the world title in front of 3500 people watching them.

The competition has been hard fought: in the female Debora Sbei tried a very difficult programme,  that she concluded with some imperfections. She won the World Title anyway, proving she is outstanign. The silver medal has been a surprise: Silvia Lambrischi, also from Italy and at her first year as a senior, did a very good performance and outranked the compatriot Silvia Nemesio and the Solvenian Lucjia Mlinaric, fourth and third respectively.

The men competition's level was also more high and the results unexpected: the Italian Alessandro Amadesi shacked all the previous results with his incredibly talented performance in which he showed character, strength, velocity and technique.

Second place for Gustavo Casado, from Brazil, last year world champion; bronze medal for the Italian Andrea Girotto, who's performance has been influenced from a bit of emotion.

But the evening has been even more spectacular, thanks to the exhibitions of the large groups. The Spanish-Catalan big groups dominated the scene with their amazing shows. Olot won for the eight time the world title deservedly, with an incredible sea inspired choreography: rhythm, synchronization, tricks of illusion seduced the audience, speechless. Silver medal for the compatriot El Masnou with the intriguing “Labirinth”, third the Italian group Cristal with the fascinating stories from the “Gran Casino”.

When the competition was over a big joyous crown of athletes from all over the world swarmed into the rink during the closing ceremony, during which Reus passed the baton to Cali, next host for the 2015 roller artistic skating championships.
