Pairs Long Programme Spirals (Arabesque) sequence

Artistic
From now on the CIPA Committee intends to write some articles in order to specify and clarify most of the rules (old and news) that skaters, trainers and officials MUST follow.

The first rule we want to clarify is the rule about the SPIRALS(Arabesque) SEQUENCE that from this year is a SET ELEMENT in Pairs Long Programmes:

“The couple MUST INCLUDE one spiral (arabesque) sequence with at least one change of edge and one change of direction. The change of direction may be performed by one of the partners or both and one of the two must be always in spiral position.”

Thanks to Ritchie Gussman we publish some pictures taken from the ice and under each picture we specify if it’s a good position or not good position to present in a Spirals(Arabesque) Sequence keeping in mind that to be considered a SPIRAL(Arabesque) POSITION, the knee and the foot of the free leg MUST be kept above the hip.
