The 2014 Junior World Championships in Reus are drawing to a close, with only one day left and five titles to be assigned: tomorrow there will be assigned the Free and the Combined title, both Men and Ladies, and the Precision Group Competition will take place.

The first half of the day schedule was dedicated to the Solo Dance competitions, both Men and Ladies, with the assignement of the World Titles. After the Junior Men Compulsory Dance, José Souto from Portugal leaded the ranking, closely followed by the Italian Michele Nuti. Aurélien Dasso, from France and Stefano Piccolo from Italy, fighted for the third position. At his first World Championship, Souto soon showed great chances to reach the podium and confirmed the leading position, preformance after performance. In the Free Dance, the three athletes confirmed their positions performing good programs.

The 2013 World Champion, Rachele Campagnol (ITA) was well defending the title after the Compulsory Dances: a good point difference divided her from the Portuguese Iara Rocha and the Italian Sara Zaggia. In the Free Dance Competition, Rachele Campagnol performed an amusing program on the music of the movie "The Legend of Zorro", getting all the scores over 9 and, of course, the Gold Medal. Iara Rocha's program was wery well performed, with a lot of energy and passion: some little imperfections did not threaten her Silver Medal. Sara Zaggia confirmed her third position with a very good performance.

After the Solo Dance Award Ceremonies, the schedule continued with the Long Program for Junior Men and Junior Ladies. Tomorrow, will be the turn of the last groups of both competitions and there is great expectations for the challenges that will involve the athletes on the top of the ranking after the Short Program: Pamela Maronese (ITA), Giselle Soler (ARG), Letizia Ghiroldi (ITA), Tanita Kaja Cerne (SLO) and Catalina Fajardo (COL) in the Ladies Luca Lucaroni (ITA), Pere Marsinyach Torrico (ESP), Sergio Canales Rodriguez (ESP), Marco Bisciari (ITA) and Diogo Silva (POR)

In the Junior Pairs Short Program, Rebecca Tarlazzi and Luca Lucaroni (ITA) dominated the competition with a great performance, followed by Sharon Giannini and Matteo Rizzo (ITA) and Sara Garcia Muñoz y Marc Pañero Moreno from Spain. The Long program confirmed the Gold Medal for Tarlazzi and Lucaroni, at their first World Championship together as pairs. Reus 2014 was the debutting Championship also for Sharon Giannini and Matteo Rizzo: the Silver Medal pairs showed great precision and understanding in executing both the Short and Long Programs. Sara Garcia Muñoz y Marc Pañero Moreno conquered the Bronze Medal, even though after the Short Program they were quite close to second pair.

The Compulsory and Original Dance programs set the stage for the "Italian" fight towards the first step of the podium with Rachele Campagnol and Alberto Maffei leading the ranking being closely followed by Jessica Ponzoni and Michele Nuti: just 3 tenths separated the two couples and it seeemed to be quite difficult for the Portogueses Mariana Souto and José Souto recover the disadvantge. In the Free Dance, Campagnol and Maffei confirmed the first position on the podium with a gushing program well performed that conquered both judhes and public. The Silver Medal went to Ponzi and Nuti and the Bronze to the couple Souto and Souto: both the couple showed good techinical skill and interesting coreography.
