What to look for in the 2024 Artistic International Series
Dance: the Pattern Sequence in the Style Dance portion is now with a 1.5 factor, making it an even more valuable element. This backbone of dance skating will have remarkable improvement this year.
Free Skating: skaters are now performing Spins in ways that have never been done in history. Look for Difficult Entries, Difficult Variations and exquisite Combination Spins. The results are awe inspiring.
Pairs: several countries are working toward the global reemergence of this discipline and proving why it is so wonderful. The Italians, as long standing leaders of this discipline, will continue to dazzle with their breathtaking unison and innovation.
All Events, All Disciplines: the essence of what makes Artistic Skating the unique sport that it is can be found within the Components. Scored in four different areas of Skating Skills, Transitions, Performance and Choreography, it is clear to see why this is an area where skaters, coaches and choreographers work hard. Prepare to be astounded by the moments when sport becomes art.
The Artistic International Series format is a critical part of the World Skate Rankings. It is these rankings that continually evolve through the season to see what Junior and Senior skaters can call themselves the number one ranked skaters in the World. The Rankings also play a crucial role in the starting order of Style Dances and Short Programs at the upcoming World Skate Games to be held Rimini, Italy in September. In the Senior level skaters can earn up to 390 points, while Junior skaters can earn up to 156 points. “I am looking forward to the 2024 Artistic International Series. The Series has been a very special project for me. Each year the skaters and coaches bring their best to the floor and with open minds. Their hard work is building the sport throughout the season.” said Nicola Genchi, World Skate Artistic Technical Commission Chairman.
